More Personnel Deployed to Minimize Traffic Jams in Tanah Abang Market Area

The Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has sent more personnel from 20 to 36 people in order to anticipate traffic jams in the Tanah Abang Market area during Ramadan.

It aims to minimize serious traffic jams around the market

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Wildan Anwar said the personnel would be alerted in the Block A and B areas of Tanah Abang Market, as well as some road points that provide access for market visitors.

He asserted they would remain alert on weekends and national holidays.

"It aims to minimize serious traffic jams around the market," he said, Saturday (3/16).

Operation Control Section Head, Haryo Bagus explained 36 personnel are on standby from 7 AM to 5 PM. They are divided into two work-shift teams.

They were placed at points prone to traffic jams, such as under Metro Block A, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Fachrudin, AURI Intersection, and Jalan KH Mas Mansyur.

"We also send special mobile personnel to the Jatibaru Traffic Light around the market area," he stated.
